Attempt # 7 was no different than previous 6! It came to an early demise! Attempt #8 is coming up tomorrow!

Ok, it was over before it even bagun. Fine! I did manage to screw it up royally this time! But not to worry, I am not upset or delusional about it. I know how to tweak it now or at least I believe I do. My problem is not that I cant sustain it, my problem is night eating. I am pretty much back to my crazy night shifts. I am running around like a rooster without a head all day long, so eating and overeating is not a problem. And protein shakes work perfectly. They are both convenient and satisfying. The problem arises at night again when I hit the comfy demain of my bedroom. My cat jumps on me, I turn on my favorite sitcome and I am relaxed. Then when hunger hits me, raising its ugly head, tickling my mind and saying " Hey fat boy, its me again, your hunger. Get up and feed me and you know there is no way you can say no! I neeeeeeeed to learn how to say NO to hunger! I am a perfectinist by nature, its eather 100 percent effort to a T or all hell breaks loose and hold me if you can or hide the food! I cant believe I am still even talking about my demons. So the only effective way I know how to combat it was to eat liberally and eat when hungry. That meant success. I wouldnt eat much in a day time, but would something at night, not a lot just enough. And now that I cant eat what I want makes me rebelious on subconscious level. So here is a plan! I will go at it again and again and again until I succeed. End of story!

That's not hunger, that's your brain telling you what you used to do, get through one night and you will see.

Vadim could you eat a bigger dinner so that you arent hungry later? That is the only thing that works to keep me from nibbling at night, and I find that as long as its a low carb dinner, I am not hungry.

However, that said, I am still a night time nibbler when I am NOT hungry so unless I plan something to absorb my time in the evening I will eventually look in the refrigerator! So I keep things in there that wont kill my low carb diet, like chicken...or low carb popcycles or cheese...or sunflower seeds or something, anything which is very low carb or no carb. Try it! Just eat the right things and it wont really matter what time you eat.
PS I found you at Angies blog!

Ah yes, late night eating. That can be a troublemaker.

If you're really hungry, you must eat. But what you eat is vitally important. I would suggest having super satiating foods - those which are loaded with healthy fat, some protein and plenty of fiber. What I would avoid is anything that's sweet. I think the sweet component is a trigger for many late-night eaters ... even if the sweetness comes from LC sources. I would consider saving your sweets for the daytime when you're too busy and preoccupied to allow them to stimulate cravings and overeating.

Another thing. You could try not to eat while watching TV. That combo can encourage "mindless eating". Eat and then resume your tube time. That's what I would do.

Just a thought or two. I could be wrong. It's been known to happen ... far too often. :-)

During my late night hunger strikes, I make my way to the kitchen for some cheese or cheesecake and hope it satisfies me. Late night hunger seems so much more ravenous than my early morning hunger!

Thank Harry, and you are never wrong as far as this fourm is concerned. Your advices are always on the money and very much appreciated! Angie, I would love to have a piece of cheesecake but that what screws me. Its easier for me not to touch it than eat one piece. If I did eat one, I would eat second and third and may be fourth! Thanks for your advice!

Hi, just came across your blog and you made me laugh. But seriously, I know exactly what you mean. This hunger-beast lurks in the evening shadows and relentlessly pounces. The threefold solution I have developed is: first, I accept this hunger because if I fight it, it gets out of control. Secondly, I try for a daily eating cutoff time of 8 pm and proclaim it "A Good Day" if I stick to this. Finally, if I don't stick to my cutoff time, I have certain emergency (satisfying)snacks lined up, and indulge in one of these so I don't feel deprived.
