Battle for attention! Fat cells vs emotional monsters!

Guess what people, today was a battle of my evil, lovable , hugable demons trying to decide who will get my attention! And you know what happened? Follow along, I will tell you .......

12 pm-
8 0z of Countdown chocolate milk= 100 calories' carbs= 3
2 scoops of Chocolite whey protein= 150 calories; carbs=8 ; fiber = 3 grams

5 pm=
I have no idea how much in calories I cunsumed, so I will just list the amount and kind of food

25 Kosher bacon wrapped scallops
4 oz of roast beef
3 thyes of jerk chicken
3 mini hot dogs

6 pm-
6 pieces of jerk chicken
5 more of the best ever tasting Kosher bacon wrapped scallops

1 am-
1/2 cup of cottage chees
1 cup of Countdown chocolate milk
2 tablesppon of almond butter

Ok, it might seem like I ate a lot, and I did but...... I was invited to the one and only once a year President's Holiday Party! There were bunch of ass..... and ass sympathizing people there that I try to avoid on regular bases. There was so much fakeness and ass kissing gooing around that even politician would look like Saints next to them. Oh my Lord, I felt like a virgin all over again. I was so out of place sitting at the table with all these , how do I put it politically correct, know it alls that I almost puked literally! I was the only one eating low carb mind you. You dont even know how many "' Do you know bacon causes heart attacks " I got. So I swore for every time someone will mention anything about bacon causing artery clogging effect I will get up and get another bacon. So hence so many Kosher, artery clogging, and comment provoking pigs in the blanket! Eventually someone got the point and we started talking how great Obama is. I swear these people go from one extreame to another. Mind you, I work at Suny Downstate ( world famous medical instituition ) hence most of them were world's class doctors. And there we went with Obama, how great he is, how great he was and how great he is going to be! So eventually I swore next time someone will mention Obama name one more time I was going to eat another pig in the blanket, yes, that Kosher, artery clogging bacon. Eventually they stopped talking about Obama and went back talking about how artery clogging bacon was. At that moment President started speaking and I was long gone.....so cant tell you the rest of the story... Except that my emotional demons and fat cells were pretty happy today and trully got my attention!

Vadim!

I can relate to your predicament today. I often feel that way at work.

But, think of it this way: You can't stand these people. Why would you want to give them the power to make you hurt yourself?!

They don't deserve such power! They couldn't care less if you overeat and harm yourself. But, you, you should care!

You've only got one shot at this here life. Don't let unimportant people, in your life, drive you to hasten your demise!

Can I get an Amen? ... the sound of crickets ...

Amen!

On my end, I didn't do the coconut oil tonight but I did try to eat a bigger, fattier snack as my final food o' the day. It did seem to help some.

Tomorrow's another day, my friend. Take it by the horns and teach those freakin' fat cells who's boss! By that, I mean you! :-)

Check in with you later.

Hi Vadim,

Oh man, I am SO glad I don't get the "bacon causes heart attacks" jargon. A year or so ago I did but I reacted nice and coldly to it no-one does it anymore. How do you tend to react?

I've just taking a peek at what Harry has written you - he is spot on! If you don't know/like/stand these people, then don't give them any power over your behaviour. You deserve to treat yourself better than that. :)

Vadim,
You have such a talent for writing. I always feel like I'm right there with you. You make me smile :), thank you!

There is a saying that always gets me through times like this, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." ~Dr. Seuss.
Hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.

Isn't it sad how quick people are to judge. They don't know your background or health issues, but they choose to judge your eating habits.

and Harry I give you a big.... Amen!

Harry, erika, new vision you guys are all jewels! I appreciate all of your comments! Harry fortunately I stayed low carbs despite these people driving me insane. I was in a kind of funky mood to begin and initially set at a seperate table. But then I was accused by my woman boss that it is an anti-social behavior to eat by myself at such big event. I wanted to tell her " Damn woman, when a man is trying to enjoy his steak the last I want to hear is how pissed you were that you didnt get a chance to buy nice silky lingerie for your husband or oh, you guys are so cute lets take a picture. I have a german shephard at home and when he eats his steak the last thing I want to do is take a picture! Just leave the beast alone with his steak! LOl, I hope I still have my women subscription after these comments! I love women more then life. Once I was asked at a meeting what were my biggest inspiration and I said " dogs, women and kids" but there is a time for everything, and everyhting is in its time!

Vadim, you crack me up! LOL!

The bacon wrapped scallops sure do sound good! Two of my favorite foods, together....yummy!!

I agree with Harry and Erika, the best revenge is living well. Stay on your path and the results will speak for themselves (and shut the naysayers down).

BTW, did you say you had trouble commenting on Erika's blog? Did you figure it out because I can not comment either. :( I never get the words to pop up for verification and my comments disappear into cyberspace.

Hi Solshine, thanks for stopping by. No, I havent yet figured it out, so I am opening Erika's blog from my work computer which seems to be more Australian friendly then my house one, I guess! Thats the best explanation I can come up, being so computer savvy!

Vadim, I don't have time to leave a long comment today, but I do want to say. I always have a big grin on my face when I read your blog, thanks! I look forward to reading your brand of humor.

Hi Vadim,

It doesn't matter if you want to be left alone and not talk about lingerie, lol. I eat by myself a lot at work because I don't want to talk about my kids (I don't have any) or their schooling or how much such-and-such is irritating. I really don't think it's rude at all.

However, if this was a special event I'd say the custom is to tolerate your discomfort just for the evening. I'm already preparing for my boring and uncomfortable Christmas parties coming up. ;)
